Not to worry Grahme -- I find most web2py'ers are an adventurous lot. Massimo (our BDFL) is probably more adventurous than anyone! You won't get in trouble for "impure thinking" around here... Heck, we get criticized a lot for not being "pythonic enough" ourselves.
Look forward to seeing your version of web2grails! (Grails is, of course "groovy on rails" which borrows from Rails, which web2py ALSO borrows from. So.....
