Yes, it appears to work perfectly for me as well, as did the function I 
posted. Hence, it appears that something is wrong with either the ajax 
call, or some nuance that a novice like myself does not see, which is 
probably so obvious to you that you do not see what I'm missing. 

My only hint is that I have not utilized or augmented download.stream() or 
response.download
