I installed a second web2py and set up some mock applications to
experiment with these lines of thought.

This works.

I didn't get the widget to work yet, but so far it is a matter of
eliminating the errors one after the other.

I realise I can't expect anyone to follow my lines of thought. I very
much appreciate all the help I get from you and the others and I have
learnt a lot since I got started with web2py.
