Hi Ben, first, thanks for your words :)
I have never used the plugin with nginx, but I am not sure that the
issue should be nginx related, the plugin (as web2py apps) should work
fine (or buggy) no matter the server.
Please, first make shure that you have installed the PIL (Python Imaging
Library) dependency.
If you have installed it, please send me your OS and software versions
to try to reproduce the problem (and if you can, report the issue in the
project github page).

an app that I am working on. The app was initially built on a machine
configured with the apache script setup-web2py-ubuntu.sh and*worked
great* with the thumbnails.plugin
Unfortunately it seems the thumbnails are not created if I use nginx,
even though the files are uploaded ok (I did uncomment the files
upload line to 10m in the nginx config). I was wondering if anyone
else experienced the same problem and what they did to fix it?
