I understand, but that is not what I was saying. I was thinking of
bickering and infighting *between* FOSS proponents.

You know, Linux vs, BSD, vi vs. emacs and all those holy wars which
make normal people thankful to Microsoft for telling them what to do,
and not having to choose.

In languages we have perl vs. python vs. ruby vs. C# etc.

And even amongst python users there are the Django fans vs. the
TurboGears fans vs. the no-web-framework fans...

Personal preference is just fine, but clan battles can get ugly.
Especially as a lot of that is not people doing their own
experimenting and making their own choices accordingly, just following
the current fads and opinion leaders.
