Why are you putting it inside an array inside a jQuery selector? And how
would creating a variable make a difference -- a variable is just a pointer
to the data object?
Anyway, the problem appears to be that your data do not comply with the
FancyTree data specification:
http://wwwendt.de/tech/fancytree/doc/jsdoc/global.html#NodeData. You should
probably spend some time learning and understanding FancyTree (and
Javascript), and you'll probably get better help on their forum:
