can somebody remind me why this is called passfield instead of password?

It seems so "off the beaten path" that unless it's motivation is made very
clear (in the book, and elsewhere)
I'm afraid this mistake will (naturally) be repeated many times by many
people.

If there's not a really strong motivation, I think it perhaps is not a good
idea.
