Yes, as usual, if you want to prevent escaping in the view, you must wrap
with XML(). Another options is:
Controller:
return dict(stra='abcd', obj=alist) # No JSON conversion needed here.
View:
<script>
{{=ASSIGNJS(o=obj)}}
...
The ASSIGNJS helper will handle everything.
