yes, its like a federated id. but the emails are used for a different purpose (avatars which inturn use auth).. hence we need to have a uuid to unify them all... maybe the issue I am facing is too specific to my problem and but uuid (or similar global identifiers) would be interesting addition as it is becoming a necessity for most distributed systems
