why should we? web2py IS NOT moving to python3 because that would break backward compatibility.
All existing web2py apps will break because of unicode vs string issues. Moreover Python 3 is not mature enough and most of the required database drivers are missing. This does not exclude that if python 3 picks up and when database drivers will be available, we will create a new program similar to web2py and that uses web2py libraries. It will have a different name and since we are breaking backward compatibility it will have other differences with web2py. Even if this may happen we will continue to support and maintain web2py as it is today.
