I think it's a fun idea.  There are a couple of things you will have to deal
with, tho...

1. Transportation.  Most ski resorts have pretty poor airport access.  It's
just the nature of the beast.

2. Cost.  You'll be visiting the resorts at the peak of their busy season.
Expect $200-300 per night for lodging.  The resort also isn't going to bend
over backwards to accomodate our conference since they can fill their rooms
without us during peak season.

I used to go to an OS/2 conference which was held at a Colorado ski resort,
but OFF season (i.e. during the fall before any snow fell).  The rooms were
cheap, the transportation was still an issue, but it was a fun conference.
