Did you use your options.py file from the old installation? There were some new options added somewhere along the line where if they are not present in the options file, it will crash.
Unrelated to this issue, I noticed that the default value of response.flash changed in revision 1234. I'm sure this is fine for those that use the default template, but it broke my templates.
