Unfortunately I think the links in the manual are rather badly named. The "complete API" should refer to: http://web2py.com/examples/static/epydoc/index.html Whereas http://web2py.com/examples/default/api API should be called something else like General / Common etc.
That's what I would expect if I was new to web2py. My 2cents.
