@Thadeus, Thanks for such a comprehensive and helpful answer. I did get fake_migrate to work eventually, I had been blocking it with another problem in my code. That aside, part of my confusion was that the latter two combinations you mention do the same. I suppose one simply has to remember that fake_migrate is given precedence when True.
