I develop on both Linux and Windows with Eclipse/PyDev/Firebug/ HgEclipse. The experience is almost identical except for one thing that puts Linux out in front in my eyes: It's MUCH easier to compile things. If there's not a pre-compiled module for Windows then you're in for a bumpy ride. This usually isn't a problem if you're doing standard web development but I don't like being limited.
