now it works like a charm (despite it seems to be old code).

I wonder, how should I (as a Newbie) know that it's "old code" ?

Wouldn't it be a good suggestions to put a "last modified date" for each 
appliance, or better on
every page ?
I don't understand why the whole internet is so anxious about putting a date 
somewhere.
Every piece of paper I write on, I start with my name and the date at the upper 
left corner, which
is quit common in my country (and I also do it on every webpage I write ;-)
