Yes, I know. It occured to me as well. But without it, it looks like a plain box, which is worse. Anyway, excluding the pixel-art and tango-styled images, I guess trash can cannot be drawn at 15px. I call wontfix.
Since we're here, though, I think Jonathan's remark about red circle with white X actually isn't a bad idea. It will make the delete icon consistent with the test icon that appears next to it in some contexts. It'd be a nice touch.
