I think it's definitely a worthwhile goal to evolve the release schedule into stable and feature branches with bugs getting back-ported but suspect it will take some time to get there.
Part of the value of a framework is being able to count on its stability. For now, we can upgrade more slowly and pay attention to stability reports of new releases.
