One year ago a user (do not recall his name) implemented something like geodjango in web2py dal. This was a master thesis project. He was not my student but I have the code somewhere.It was never merged to trunk because the patch was for a very old version of web2py.
There is also this: https://launchpad.net/web2py-geo which may be related but appears dead.
