I have been very happy with vps.net and although have the odd minor problem now and again, I find them very responsive. The reason I like them in particular is that they offer Europe and USA services and the former is good for us.
I believe web2py.com runs on vps.net and Massimo also said he was happy in the past, but again that's just one small example. I am sure they are comparison sites around which give a more objective picture. I know that vps.net have been doing a lot of additional investment in customer service, so hopefully that will show through soon.
