At the moment the Pypi version gets created by hand and the process is rather fragile. While this is something that I believe we should be able to automate I also suspect that doing so is going to lead to some other issues for developers who are less familiar with the Pypi version of Web2py.
Unfortunately in either case, at the moment I am occupied with a number urgent family matters (if someone wants to take on such a project, now would be a great time to present your solution, availability and / or to Massimo !)
