Interesting, although I tend to put always css before js in head and in the page, if needed... it helps preventing the FOUC. >From the speed "standpoint" I can't really comment, as my users are using still IE6 in some cases: new browser's behaviour is interesting, but we need to support every kind of new and old browser ;-(
