Thanks all for the suggestions. I swear I didn't change a thing, but left 
the queue running overnight. Now, it seems to be working fine. So maybe 
somebody made a change to the server. Who knows? All I know is it used not 
to work and now it works and I didn't do anything to fix it. It shall 
remain, for the time being, a deep mystery.
