I cannot reproduce this either. Running the latest trunk, here's the output
I get in the browser:

<html> <head>
<title></title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>Testing error with URL and A</h1>
<div id="me"><a href="#null" onclick="ajax(&#x27;/test/default/mycallback&#
x27;,[],&#x27;me&#x27;);return false">click me</a></div>
/test/default/mycallback
</body>
</html>

Are you running from source, or the Windows or Mac binary?
