Saya asal nih ya, ini sebetulnya istilah-istilah aja sih...
Flash 3/Flash 4 bisa software buatan si Macromedia. Untuk ngeliatnya si
browser perlu ada masing-masing plugin... logikanya plugin yang 4 bisa
ngeliat yang 3. Kalau punya plugin 3, tidak semua/tidak disarankan membuka
file hasil buatan berformat flash 4.
Setelah membuat movie dari software, kita export ke compressed format
namanya: Shockwave Flash, ini saya ambilin dari helpnya Flash 3 tentang

Creating Flash movies for the web
Flash is primarily an animation tool for the web. Use the Flash authoring
environment to create vector-based interactive animations and incorporate
sounds.
When you finish creating a movie, you export it in a compressed format
called Shockwave Flash. When you've exported the movie, you create an HTML
document that displays the Shockwave Flash movie in a web browser. You can
either create the HTML document yourself using an HTML authoring tool such
as Dreamweaver, or use the Aftershock utility included with Flash to do it
for you.
