Hello Macam developers, I found the Macam project when looking for an OS X driver for my Kodak EZ-200 webcam. I'm familiar with coding using Xcode and software development in general so if some technical stuff is required to troubleshoot this I'm not hesitant to jump in.
I'm using Tiger 10.4.6 on a 1.83 Ghz Macbook Core Duo. It's pretty much a stock machine without any software updates applied because Quicktime 7.1.3 breaks the current Flip4Mac WMV components. I can retest on 10.4.8 with updates if necessary since I've got some free space on my HD to fiddle around. I downloaded Macam 0.0.9 and started the "Macam" application. I get the brushed metal interface with a black rectangle and "Status: No Camera". Now, I connect the Kodak EZ-200 to one of my Macbook's USB ports, the Macam application window gets updated: the "Play" button gets activated and the status bar now reads "Status: Connected to Kodak EZ200 (experimental)". The black rectangle inside the window also resizes from 320x240 to 640x480. So far so good it seems. Since I'm not familiar with Macam or how it should work, I pressed the Play button. Three things happen then: the Play icon becomes a Pause icon, the status bar now reads "Status: Playing" and the black rectangle turns a solid shade of grey. Also, the toolbar icons change their state a bit ("image snapshot" is now enabled). Nothing much happens at this moment. I can create image snapshots by clicking the button, but they're all grey. Adjusting the sliders in the camera video settings drawer doesn't do a thing - I can not change the shade of grey, it remains hex color #808080. Since nothing seems to work, I press the Pause button. The rectangle turns black again. I tried changing the "Format" of the camera settings, but none seem to work - the rectangle size changes but I only get a black or grey rectangle. Quitting the application works properly when the application is in Pause mode. I'd gladly help debugging this problem and getting the camera to work, but I would need some tips to start my journey. Thanks in advance for your time and replies, keep up the good work!
