AX Error Detection: The number of fields needing attention leaves out fields
no assistive technology has visited
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326203
rdar://189092426
Reviewed by Chris Fleizach.
The count sent with the possible form validation error notification, which
VoiceOver speaks as "N fields
need attention", only included fields that already had an accessibility object.
A field gets one once an
assistive technology reaches it, or when a label or ARIA relation names it.
Where the tree is built
lazily, fields with neither, such as ones labeled only by a placeholder, were
left out, so a page that
marked four such fields invalid was reported as having none. Build each field's
object when counting, and
leave out fields that are ignored, since the user can't reach them to fix them.
