I think WebKit should consider participating in Google's Summer of Code this year.
To facilitate such, I have created a wiki page, where potential mentors, as well as project ideas can be placed: http://trac.webkit.org/projects/webkit/wiki/Google%20Summer%20of%20Code%202008 I have added a couple project ideas of my own. I have not signed up as a mentor due to my status as a Google employee and the clause "Google employees, interns, contractors, and family members are ineligible to participate."
