WebKitGTK+ 2.4.9 is an old version that has been deprecated long ago. It s not maintained anymore and has several bugs (including security issues). The WebKit1 API is also deprecated. Use the WebKit2 API instead. I recommend you to try the last version of WebKitGTK+ (2.10.7). You can find the last stable tarball at http://webkitgtk.org/ To check if AC is working, you can for example load poster circle [1] in the MiniBrowser.
