The Browser team located in the greater Boston area is responsible for the implementation of critical part of this strategy. The Browser is the most critical application on Mobile phones today after the phone application. The Browser is that ubiquitous application that provides people access, on the go, to the information they need when they need it. To help answer that challenge Nokia is seeking talented software engineers. You will work with an established, fun, and dynamic software engineering team to develop the next generation of Mobile Web Browser running on the next generation of Nokia devices. The Senior Software Engineers will be responsible for: · The design and implementation of cutting edge solutions for the next generation Nokia Browser · Working with architects, researchers and other engineers to solve complex technical problems specific to mobile environments · Working closely with other member of the team such as QA engineers to ensure that Quality and User Experience always remain paramount · Mentoring more junior engineers Requirements: · 5+ years of experience in C++, Object Oriented Analysis and Design is required. · Prior experience in developing for embedded environment is required. · Hands on experience with web technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript is required. · Prior experience with open source development is required. · Experience with developing with modern JavaScript libraries (ie: jquery) is required. · Involvement with the Webkit project/community highly desired · Other desired experience or exposure would be Qt programming, contribution to an open source project, experience with working around standards, especially W3C.
