Hello everybody! The QtWebKit team is proud to announce the final release of QtWebKit-2.2.0!
QtWebKit-2.2 was branched off trunk on May and kept under stabilization since then. In total, 399 commits have been added to the stabilization branch, most of them fixing regressions, crashes and security issues. The WebKit project moves really fast and it's hard to highlight one specific feature of QtWebKit-2.2.0. In comparison to QtWebKit-2.0 (the version included in Qt-4.7, more than one year old), there are tons of improvements, including plenty of support for new standards and many bugfixes. We have a partial list of highlighted features in our public wiki: http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKitFeatures22. Technical details, including the full list of bugs fixed, known issues and build instructions are also available: http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKitRelease22 QtWebKit-2.2.0 is already integrated into the Qt repository and it'll be present in Qt-4.8. The full source code can be retrieved from the git repository or downloaded a tarball from http://get.qt.nokia.com/qtwebkit/ We wish to thank everybody involved in testing, bug reporting, monitoring the build-bots and backporting or implementing fixes. QtWebKit is a very exciting and fast paced project and there are a lot of challenges ahead of us, such as bringing to Qt5 the new WebKit2 architecture and providing new QML APIs. The development is done in the open and there are plenty of opportunities for contributions from the community, which are, as always, very welcome. Please check our wiki for more details. Thanks and happy coding!
