Looking at this it seems like it is unlikely for unity to fix it:

I don't think that this will change on the QtWebKit side as well. I don't
recall why exactly, but I think windowed plugins weren't supported with
QGraphicsView for some specific architectural reasons. I might be wrong though,
in which case somebody would still need to step up and do it.

Windowed plugins with QGraphicsView are not explicitly unsupported, there is no fallback in the code, we do try to load and play them. However, there are some problems with them. You can find more info here: http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKitPlugins. It's a bit out-of-date but for Qt 4 it does describe the current state more or less.

Betreff: Re: [webkit-qt] unity3d plugin in QML webview

QGraphicsWebView only supports windowless NPAPI plugins as far as I know (I
can't succeed finding any proof of that in the code though). If it is the case
and that unity3d doesn't support this mode, it won't work.

The QML WebView uses QGraphicsWebView so it won't work either.

The unity3d plugin (e.g.

) works with QWebView but not in QGraphicsWebView or in a QML WebView.
The plugin uses three stacked windows on top of the web page and I
suspect that something in the QGraphicsView prevents the creation of
those windows. I have reported this in the Qt bug tracker
(https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-25705).<https://bugrep
orts.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-25705%29.>

Does anybody know what could cause this?
