There has been a new comment on Weblate/master at Hosted Weblate.

Comment:

Fulltext, especially when written in one word, usually refers to an
“intelligent text search” and does not mean “the search term must be the
complete text”.

Having this as the default search mode is not what I expected, since I
usually search for similar translation having a specific word, therefore
I would prefer “substring” to be the default search mode.
