I don't think it is an umbrella term. I believe it is more related to
newspaper, publishing and web pulishing. The 'slug' term used in web URLs
seems to be derived from <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slug_(publishing)> \--
see etymology info. At least for Portuguese (Brazil), this seems to be one
word that has no direct translation
