Well, especially on the elephant side I think some more detail would be
useful to the community.

cl-prevalence is in use by default, and elephant/bdb seems almost deprecated
(future elephant releases will use cl-prevalence) and hard to get working on
some platforms (OSX 10.5 comes to mind).
