---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Branch successful use of Facebook & Twitter From: jdenisewatkins <jdenisewatk...@aol.com> Date: Mon, 03 Jan 2011 22:35:45 -0500 X-Message-Number: 1 Hi, I am conducting a social media training session tomorrow and would like to share branch successes with the participants. If you could send me how you have been using FB & Twitter and what goals, objectives and outcomes you had, it would be very much appreciated. Selling branches on the benefits of engaging social media has been a challenge. Hearing branch success stories could go a long way in perhaps getting our members to participate. Thank you! Like so many others I caught some creeping crud -- from my son and husband -- over the holiday and was out of the office Monday. Janet, I did see your comment on the Facebook AAUW - Social Media Task Force page<http://www.facebook.com/AAUW.SMTF> and look forward to reading responses to her question from you all here on the listserve or in Facebook. Good luck with your session and let us know how it turns out. Members of my branch and many around the state seem to have no use for FB or Twitter. I asked National for some information about how they are doing with it and didn't get an answer. It seems they are still gathering info, but did I book Alan Callander, AAUW social media manager and Peggy Woods-Clark, webmaster, for a presentation on the topic at our statewide meeting in April. I would be interested in what your workshop includes and how it goes. I hope you will also share the answers to the questions you asked! This social media stuff is like setting up a website. Setting it up is not the issue, the issue is managing it and keeping the conversation flowing. ________________________________ From: pnquick <pnqu...@cox.net> To: web managers <webmgrs@listsrv.aauw.org> Sent: Tue, January 4, 2011 3:23:46 PM Subject: Re: Branch successful use of Facebook & Twitter Janet, I am curious to know the same thing you are asking!
