Title: Re: Application not found... After Tiger upgrade [Solved]
Thanks to all who responded so fast and with such great suggestions. Chuck had the lucky answer (again, of course) and I ended up checking one of the app servers apache.conf file to line it all up, and BANG – apps came back up. Of course, I then had the pleasant surprise of discovering that Apple backs up your webserver doc root directory and replaces it with a brand spanking new one, but that heart attack only lasted a few moments before I found the saved original. Thanks again everybody, and have a kickin’ kwanza;-))

Hey ... just a thought ... could you include your /System/Library/WebObjects/Adaptors/Apache/apache.conf for me to have a look at.  And also, if you point your browser at your app servers at port 1085 do you get the config xml?  Or are you using a static site config file on your webserver?

Another question ... when you try to point at an application what is the error? Is it

The requested application was not found on this server.

Or some other error.

Thanks,
Michael.

Hi Michael, thanks for the pitch in;-)

In our situation, the only box running Tiger is the web server; the  actual
app servers are still on Panther. I'm wondering if wotaskd isn't liking this
arrangement. I'm going to try rebooting again anyway. What the hell, it's
not like anything's working now LOL.

Hey Guys,

Not sure if this has any relevance at all!  But, we are running
10.4.3 and occasionally the whole box will become unresponsive,
requiring a hard reboot.  Now, the odd thing is, once the reboot is
performed none of the WO Apps come back up.  Monitor does come up,
and shows that our apps are trying to start, but with no avail.  We
have to perform a second soft-reboot and then everything comes up as
it should.

Again, we haven't found any solution to this, but I thought I'd
mention it.

Michael.

Thanks Xavier.

I added the lines to httpd.conf, but no luck so far. I'm running
Monitor on
another machine that's actually serving applications. I have the
web server
configured in Monitor as an available host to run apps on, but I
don't have
instances running on that box. I've checked the site config files
for each
of the three servers, and they're all identical, so it looks like
that part
is all good. I think I remember that this error means wotaskd isn't
aware
of, or able to find the requested application. Thanks again.

looks like an issue with Apache

As far as I can remember, you've got to have (at least that's what I
have;) in the httpd.conf file:
LoadModule WebObjects_module    /System/Library/WebObjects/Adaptors/
Apache/mod_WebObjects.so
and
AddModule mod_WebObjects.c
and
Include /System/Library/WebObjects/Adaptors/Apache/apache.conf

But I'm not sure it's your issue, if monitor works...

Hope this help

Xavier

PS: I had many issues upgrading to Tiger, but I can't remember all
what I did to make it works...

I know this is a simple issue, but I can't remember what the heck
to do and
I'm in a serious time crunch. None of my applications are being
found after
the Tiger upgrade on the web server. The rest of the app servers
are still
running Panther. Monitor shows them all as running, and I'm able to
start,
stop, delete and add applications. Thanks a bunch.
