Hello folks,
We're working on enhancing our free Tomcat Deployment software to
include clustering support.
I've often wondered how WO scaling architecture fit in with J2EE
container architecture.
While we've read the Jakarta notes concerning the initial steps,
we've heard some chatter about the difficulty in getting WO to
serialize sessions, working with the </distributable. element, and
so on.
I don't think it is hard to get WO to serialize sessions. The
problem is that these will include the page cache (all those pages
and components) and editing contexts and EOs. This quickly adds up
to a lot to serialized for each request. Just moving that much data
around can be a performance issue. I've heard that Apple (iServices)
has code to do this efficiently, but it is not public.

Does anyone have any experience in getting Tomcat to work with WO
in a clustering mode?
Hints, tips, and errate will all help....and, of course, be offered
for free to all WO developers once completed.
Thanks,
