Hallo,
I got a Mac OS X 10.3 Server with WebObjects installed. It has a IP via which it connects to the Intermet.

There is a PC Database server which has a MS SQL Database on and running and is connected to the Mac with another IP, forming a local network with the Mac.

We start the Wo app and when the app tries to connect to the windows database server we get this error:

An exception occurred while trying to open a channel: com.webobjects.jdbcadaptor.JDBCAdaptorException: Es konnte keine TCP/IP-Verbindung zu Host "" hergestellt werden. java.net.ConnectException: Operation timed out

Fact: The Mac can ping the PC and a portscan on the mac reveals: The port 1433 where the database is running is open and the database is seen there.

So, has anyone an idea why the database is not seen by eomodeller? Can it be by chance that the mac does look for the database server on the wrong Network, so looking for it on the internet and not in the internal network? If so, how do I tell the mac, where to look for the databaseß

The mac has two ethernet connections, one to the PC (in a PCI card) and the other (the internal one) to the Internet.

Any help is highly appreciated, as I cannot think of anything more I can test.

Thanks a lot

Ute
