localhost ip will be 127.0.0.1 .. which is different to the host expected by JM in this case (especially when multiple boxes are involved).

No split install involved.

Thanks Chuck -- but it turned out to be something *much* simpler.

I'd added WOHost=localhost to my properties file (assuming it would be
ignored/overridden when run from JM). Turns out it's not :-)
