No, I think they are bugs. Or rather, poor design choices. There is a
fragile dependency between the reverse DNS lookup values, the host
name and one of the IP addresses on a multihomed server. These
problems are a fairly common question on this list. I'm happy for you
that you've never had a problem, but many others have.
