I don't know if that is exactly safe. Did you test them? I had to
make some changes in my apps to get them to run OK with 5.4. I'd go
so far as to say that 5.4.x is not usable without some fixes in
Project Wonder. But that may just be my usage of it.

Were the apps recompiled for 5.4.2?

Sorry, but is there a list of the api changes anywhere?

We have multiple sites running the same version of our WO app,
but using different machines and different versions of the
WebObjects deployment.
Any site we have that is using the WO 5.4.2 deployment has this
problem where the cpu usage spikes on the java process.
The WO app eventually becomes unresponsive.
When running 5.4.1, this does not happen.
Is there a bug in 5.4.2 that i am not aware of?
Not that I am aware of. You will need to get thread dumps and do
some profiling to isolate where the problem lies. There were API
changes, so if you have not updated your code, you could be
getting into an infinite loop.
