I think I am just jinxed whenever I try to do something to my
server. The problem is that my apps run great until I have to do any
server type admin and the WO always seems to bite me in the ...
I suspect it is more of making changes and being unaware of the
consequences.

Not give us enough information to start with. :-) What did
"server maintenance" involve? IP changes? DNS? hostname?
JavaMonitor changes? New App instance?
