I would use Amazon Linux (as opposed to other Linux variants that they offer) on EC2 unless you have a compelling reason not to. Obviously it's constructed specifically for working with EC2, it installs in a very minimalist configuration, Amazon hosts package repositories, and provides security updates. -- Paul Hoadley http://logicsquad.net/
