Put this in your .profile of the user you are running this under: export NEXT_ROOT=/opt Note that you should not do all this under root. Create a user "appserver" and a group "appserveradm", chown all the stuff under /opt to that, and change your wotaskd and womonitor scripts to run those daemons as this user.
