I admit I did not read the PDF (too early in the morning for a nap) but the way I read the text on the first page, this seems to be for people who want to ship WebObjects along with their application, instead of telling their customers to install a copy themselves. So the assumption is that you are passing this cost on to your customer in return for an easier installation experience for them.

Also, I wonder if they see this as a solution to the "I don't want to make my clients buy an X Server" thing we've all been whining about? If your application includes all the WO pieces needed for deployment, and you can get a license key from Apple to give to your customer, this is a relatively easy solution as long as WO keeps on working on other platforms. Certainly it would make a better impression than giving your customer an OS X Server box and telling them that's where the license key comes from and they have to keep it....

So, in a nutshell: you're expected to pay x * $699 to not have x boxes of OSX server (each for $499) around?
