Thank you Lachlan, and thank you too Helge for your less than useful response.

All the same, yes I suppose I should have taken the question to the Xcode list. Sorry about that.

Regards,
David.

Have you tried to throw away your prefs for xCode before ranting all over

The below reported problem exists with Xcode 2.2 - and I made sure by removing all developer prefs, reinstalling index templates and so on. You can still see the build results via the Build > Build Results window but for even more fun try using Xcode in All-in-one layout. You'll not have access to the Run Log or Build Results.

These are not things that are solved by preferences deletions - they are bugs in Xcode. Hopefully they'll be fixed in the near future as it's, I'm sure, a little embarrassing for Apple to have their main dev tools in such a state - but if they get it right it looks like the WebObjects environment of the future is promising.

I've already filed a bug on this one (and various others most of which for WebObjects Builer or Xcode).

I've installed Xcode 2.2 and now I just get:

Command /Developer/Private/jam failed with exit code 1

instead of the more useful compiler messages I used to get before.
