As wolfram I don't have /var/log/webobjects.log on the server

... make sure the user 'appserver' can write into /var/log/ otherwise it can't create webobjects.log (though that won't cause anything to not run). Other things to look for might be if the application is trying to start over and over (the death count in Monitor will increase) -- this would indicate that the app is starting but failing; if that's not the case, then it's likely not starting at all -- which might indicate that the path to the application as specified in Monitor is wrong, or it's right and the application isn't there (different name maybe?).

PS: You may be getting less response from US members of the list since it's the Thanksgiving holiday and they're all recovering from an overdose of turkey!
