Greetings,
I just attempted to run javadoc on my system and received the
following messages:
HotSpot not at correct virtual address. Sharing disabled.
java version "1.4.2_09"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build
1.4.2_09-232)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2-54, mixed mode)
When I googled on the words "HotSpot not at correct virtual address",
I found several references to a problem upgrading from Jaguar to
Panther and how a QuickTime install broke the Java install. Apple
published a TN about the problem and later updated it to say the
problem had been resolved with a fix they offered. Unfortunately,
that fix would downgrade my system.
I'm running Mac OS X (10.4.3) - Tiger, and have installed Java 1.3.1
and 1.4.2 Release 2 back in September and J2SE 5.0 Release 3 last month.
