Hi folks,

I'm trying to get WebObjects to play nice with an Ingres database -- or maybe it's the other way around --, and have run into a snag.

While I was able to successfully get EOModeler to pull in the tables I needed for my datamodel, my simple WO application hurls at runtime with a complaint about RTRIM after a table query: Next exception:SQL State:42000 -- error code: 2906 -- msg: line 1, There is no such function as 'rtrim'.

Indeed: Ingres implements RTRIM using TRIM.

From what I've read, it would seem that I would have to custom-build a JDBC plugin. This could be a show-stopper, as I'm kinda left a little fuzzy-headed by technote 2027.

Anyone have any simple solutions or suggestions? Are my suspicions correct?

Cheers,
Tom Friesen

BTW: Ingres 2006 is now available for Linux under GPL at www.ingres.com! Solaris, Windows, and AIX to follow. Anyone want to port it to OS X? :)
